USAGE
How Much Mylicon Should I Give My Baby?
Mylicon can be safely and effectively used by infants and children. For infants under 2 years old and 24 lbs, 0.3 mL should be given. Kids 2 and older and over 24 lbs should receive 0.6 mL. Just be sure to always use the Mylicon dosage device that comes with the bottle to measure out the correct amount.
How Do I Give My Infant Mylicon?
Our gas drops come with an easy-to-measure, easy-view dosing syringe. Simply shake the bottle to mix the formula. Then, follow the dosage instructions on the package and measure out the correct amount. To dispense it, hold your baby in a semi-upright position as you would while feeding them, gently tuck the syringe into your baby’s mouth alongside their cheek, to the side of their tongue, and slowly squeeze the liquid out. Your baby will instinctively swallow it.
Or, you can mix the gas drops into 1 ounce of cool water, baby formula, breast milk, or other suitable liquids. Just be sure to clean the dosing syringe after every use and to recap the bottle with its original cap. Also, as our instructions advise, don’t put the dosing syringe into a sterilizer or subject it to high temperatures.
How Often Can I Give My Baby Gas Drops?
Mylicon is safe enough to give to your infant at every feeding, up to 12 times a day. Use only as directed.
How Long Can I Give Mylicon Drops To My Baby?
There is no time limit. However, if your child experiences symptoms frequently or severely, consult your pediatrician.
Can I Use Anything Other Than The Mylicon Dosing Device For Measuring?
No, don’t use anything to measure out the dosage other than the enclosed easy-view dosing syringe. It’s marked precisely to ensure your baby gets the correct dose.
What Should I Do If I Accidentally Give My Child Too Much Mylicon?
If your baby has received more than the recommended dose, seek medical help right away or call the Poison Control Helpline at 1-800-222-1222.
STORAGE
How Should I Store Mylicon Gas Drops?
To maintain maximum effectiveness, store Mylicon around room temperature (between 68° and 77° F). We don’t recommend using it if it is stored outside of those parameters.
Any Advice on How To Keep Them Out of Children’s Reach?
Of course! Although the packaging is child-resistant, you can help keep them out of little hands’ way by storing them in a place they can’t reach. Some children can climb, such as on a toilet or counter, so a locked cabinet is the safest place to store any medicines. Try to remember to put them away after every use. And, dispose of old medicine in a way your child can’t reach it—like by taking it to a medication drop off location such as your local pharmacy.
